Zach Wilson

Every child
has a place.

I'm Zach Wilson. I write picture books for young readers, and I write them from the conviction that no child is an accident. Kids are handed a set of gifts nobody else got in quite the same combination, and most of them spend years wondering what those gifts are for. My books are about that question.

Every Tree Has Its Place

Written by Zach Wilson · Illustrated by Mutiara Arum

Paw Paw Bear takes his grandcub, Bridger, walking through The Great Wood. Bridger wants to know why he isn't like the other animals he meets. His grandfather shows him the trees instead, and the answer turns out to be the same one.

It's a picture book built on Ephesians 2:10, and the idea underneath it is simple enough for a four-year-old to carry around. You were made on purpose, by someone who had something in mind.

What I write about

Four things I keep coming back to, in the books and everywhere else.

  1. Reading & Literacy

How children learn to read, and what happens in a house where somebody reads out loud.

  2. Childhood Development

What's actually going on in a young mind, and why the slow parts are not a problem to fix.

  3. Faith & Formation

Raising children who know they were made on purpose, and what that looks like on a Tuesday.

  4. Stories & Imagination

Why a bear in a wood can teach a child something a lecture never will.

The journal

I'm writing the first pieces now. When they're up, they'll live here, sorted into the four subjects above, and the newest one will sit at the top of this page.
